This includes activities such as developing and providing training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigations, product development, nuclear safety and dust safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to enhance our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the Role

Are you a strategic People & Culture specialist with a passion for competence development? Do you want to drive competence supply and contribute to Vattenfall's goal of a fossil-free future?

As a Competence Specialist at Vattenfall Power Solutions (VPS), you will be a strategic key person in our People, Culture, and Communication team. You will be responsible for driving, developing, and ensuring the quality of our long-term competence supply – a prerequisite for VPS to deliver according to our assignments and agreements within the nuclear and hydropower sectors.

About the Job

In this role, you will work closely with our HR partners, managers, and internal specialist functions, acting as the cohesive force in the competence work for the entire VPS. You will drive both internal and external forums and be an active representative in Vattenfall's and the industry's national competence networks.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Leading and further developing VPS's competence supply process, including competence mapping, target profile work, and gap analyses.
  • Working data-driven by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing competence data to provide the organization with a basis for decision-making, planning, and long-term strategic direction.
  • Being process responsible and participating in central meeting forums, such as Strategic Workforce Planning, leadership development, and national competence teams within the nuclear sector.
  • Further developing and managing our system for verifying competence; Competence Tool and contributing to the development of VPS and Vattenfall's learning platform/learning management system.
  • Identifying future competence needs and ensuring that these are integrated into VPS's business and personnel planning.
  • Supporting managers and HR partners in competence issues and ensuring that the competence process is followed and developed so that VPS can deliver according to business requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with Nuclear Safety & Training (KSU) and other internal competence and training organizations as well as external partners and training providers.
  • Ensuring that VPS's competence work is in line with industry standards, regulations, and our common guidelines within Vattenfall.

The role is both strategic and operational in nature: you work visionarily and long-term while driving analysis, ensuring the quality of systems and processes, and supporting the organization in daily competence work and management system documentation.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

Experience and Competence

  • Several years of experience in strategic and operational work within competence supply, competence development, or strategic HR/People & Culture roles in larger organizations.
  • Experience working in a regulated or safety-driven environment, preferably nuclear power. Alternatively, experience from other industries with high demands for traceability and quality, such as pharmaceuticals, medtech, aviation, or banking/finance.
  • Good system proficiency and experience with competence systems, learning platforms (LMS), and working with structured competence data.
  • Ability to work data-driven with analysis, visualization, and interpretation of competence information.
  • Experience managing or further developing competence and training tools.
  • Knowledge of competence models, target profile work, and/or experience building and implementing structured competence processes.
  • Desirable: Experience with the SAT model (Systematic Approach to Training) or other systematic training methodologies.

Personal Attributes

You are an analytical and curious person who thrives in a complex environment where you can combine structure, data, and people-oriented work. You have a natural ability to create order, see connections, and translate analyses into clear insights for managers and HR colleagues. In dialogue with others, you are communicative and pedagogical, and you build trust through an unpretentious and collaborative approach. The role requires independence and drive, and you are eager to take initiative when processes need to be developed or tools improved. Above all, you are motivated by contributing to long-term competence development and ensuring that the organization has the right competence in the right place at the right time.

Education

  • Relevant academic education, for example in HR, behavioral science, pedagogy, engineering, or equivalent.
